Dear Outback...

Dear Outback,
On April 10, 2010 my husband and I went to your Salem location for a nice dinner. To our surprise we got nothing but a terrible night out! Upon arriving at your restaurant, we were told we would have a 30 minute wait. We had no problem waiting and were told we could go shopping if we liked since there are several stores right next door. So we had no problem waiting the 30 minutes and quickly returned 25 minute's later. After returning we were told it would be at least another 10-15 minute wait. Already starving and getting a little frustrated we decided to have a drink up at your bar while we waited. Fifteen minutes had passed and our table was finally ready, so my husband paid our bill for our drinks and we went to our table. Our waitress was friendly and took our order. Forty-five minutes later we were still waiting for our dinner and had had our fill. My husband was waiting to see our waitress to ask for the rest of our bill and forget the dinner because we were sick of waiting. Fifteen more minutes passed and our dinner was brought to us. As if the night couldn't get any worse we were left with the worst looking and tasting food we have ever ate. My husband food was cold and overcooked and my plate looked like it arrived off the children's menu and was burnt. Don't get me started on how the people next to us discovered hair in their food. Once we had enough of your establishment we asked for our bill and got out of that place. With a bill over $50.00 and have waited for close to 2 hours we expected a great meal! As far as we are concerned we will NEVER RETURN to your restaurant again. I hope your KITCHEN STAFF LEARNS HOW TO COOK or is sent to some type of cooking school and someone is taught TIME MANAGEMENT. Good luck with your failing restaurant.
Signed,
I would rather eat at McDonald's any day!

  1. We were there a couple weeks ago and were VERY disappointed in the service.
What the hell is going on with them? I'm sorry, maybe people these days think that 50 bucks for a restaurant bill is cheap, but it's NOT. Especially in the Willamette Valley!
You should call and complain. Maybe get something comped?? Seriously!

  2. what a major major bummer... I would of totally complained about the food and the wait and informed them I would not be paying for the over cooked gross food, and that the wait was by far horrible. SO SORRY! loved your ending comment best!

  4. That is horrible! You should send an email to the company and let them know what is going on at that location.
