Yesterday was the start to the Strawberry Festival in our small little town. We have a small kiddie parade on Friday and a larger parade on Saturday. I know that the committee spends so much time putting everything together and this year rain is really putting a damper on it. As I'm writing this, it's pouring out and I can already tell that my kids and I won't be going to the parade today. I've always looked forward to this event ever since I was a little kid. It was always the start of summer, school was out and it was my best friends birthday. We would go out to the fair and I would pass on riding anything in fear of getting sick. Meanwhile she could ride everything over and over. I always admired the courage she had. =) So ran if you could just go away at least for the weekend if not until Fall, that would be GREAT!!!
Seriously, it feels more like November than June. I don't think I'm going out in it today, either. Will they cancel the kiddie parade? Can't wait to see if they cancel Field Day or if my kids come home really muddy.
ReplyDeleteI'm walking in the parade with my kids today dangit, because I'm hardcore like that! (plus I spent all day yesterday sewing their stinking costumes!)
ReplyDeleteOh man.
ReplyDeleteI saw the title of the post before I saw who wrote it and I KNEW it was somebody from here.
