Prepairing for Surgery

As my stress level is slowing rising I'm trying to get ready for Aubrey's surgery in the morning. We have to be at the hospital at 6:15 am and surgery starts at 7:30. It's so scary knowing that I have to hand her over to someone and watch them walk away with her. I worry that I won't be able to help her with the pain and the fear she may have of all the strangers around her. I'm sure that the surgeon will do a great job and that her hernia will be repaired and her ovary will be put back in it's correct spot and will undamaged. Throughout the day I've found myself saying small little prayers to God just to keep her safe and I have to remember that it's out of my control. I guess I need to pray for myself to help keep my stress level down and my emotions in check.

Banana Lover....

Aubrey has finally been introduced to Bananas and she loves them. When we gave her first bite her eyes lite up and she couldn't get enough! So far she has enjoyed all her veggies except green beans. We are just going to keep working on that. Justin always waves to her when he leaves and yesterday she started to wave for the first time. She is growing up so fast. Here are a few pictures from her new pictures we had taken.

Oh how I BELIEVE in Prayer

Earlier this week I had wrote about my Aunt who is in the hospital suffering from a severe brain injury. The night she was life flighted to the hospital we were told that it looked like she may be brain dead. On a scale from 1-10, (10 being the worst) she was listed at a 9. As you could imagine it left us with very little hope. I'm happy to say things have made a huge turnaround. She is now starting to move her limbs, showing reaction to pain, and tears ran down her cheeks. Even though she is still in medical induced coma. When I got the news from my family all I could do was cry. We went from nothing left to hold onto to this. During her fall her brain had also shifted and as of today it is starting to correct itself. We all know she is no were near a clean bill of health but our hope is growing stronger everyday. Now that is the true power of prayer!

Praying for a miracle...

Last night my family was given terrible news. My Aunt who lives in California was thrown off her horse and suffered severe head trauma. The horse she was riding fell on top of her head causing damage to her brain stem. As of right now we are unsure of her future. All we can do is pray that a miracle will occur and that something good will come out of all of this. Within the next 48 hours we should have a better idea of what will be the outcome. For now all we can do is pray not only for her but also her kids and grand kids.

Lukas Says...

Last night while my family was finishing dinner, Justin and I were giving each other a hard time when Justin said...

Justin- That wasn't nice mommy.
Lukas- Dad she is not a mommy she is a Spantha.

Thanks for helping me out Lukas!

Here are a few pictures from Father's Day. It was Justin's first Father's Day with Aubrey and I know he enjoyed having his little girl around. We started off the day with going to church and later ended up at my in laws for dinner. Aubrey and our niece, Sierra kept us entertained by trying to talk to each other. One of them would start to babble while the other one would just stare. Then they would switch. They are a lot of fun. The boys enjoyed ice cream cones and playing games. I hope Justin enjoyed his special day with his family. We love him very much and look forward to his next Father's Day.

A Gross Discovery!!!

This week my youngest boy Lukas came walking down the stairs chewing on something. I asked him, "Lukas what are you eating?" We do not let the kids eat anywhere except for the table so I knew something was up.
Lukas-"A sword mommy."
Mom-"What do you mean a sword."
Lukas-"A sword." (As he pulled a toe nail out of his mouth!)
As I was trying not to gag I explained we do NOT eat our finger or toe nails. I made him toss it in the garbage and wash his hands and we brushed his teeth. Gross. Just a quick note to anyone reading. I do clip his nails weekly so he was not in desperate need of hygiene care.
